PSE, What did you mean by too hot to shoot meat. Is it too hot to get it gutted and into the cooler before it spoils? I've never hunted this early but did this weekend. I was wondering about that but I don't know how long you have to get it cooledbefore it's no good to eat
Yeah. The nearest deer processor is40 min. away. Im afraid to shoot one and have it spoil. I might take a cooler of dry ice this weekend and if I kill one I can stuff the chest cavity with ice to keep the meat cool.

Once I find it I can probably get ice on it in about 1 hour but I would like to wait a couple of hours after the shot unless I see it colapse right away.
I see you're in KY. I was at Yatesville lake this weekend on my first bowhunt. Had a fawn at 10 yards but disn't want to shoot it
