RE: Do you care how "easy" your hunting is?
I've only done this one season. Was the actual hunt that got my 12 year old daughter her first deer hard? No. We sat on the edge of a field in a WMA and hoped to see a deer. But it wasn't the actual hunt that got us this deer.
It was the months reading about guns and balistics to learn what gun to buy. It was the months of reading and asking questionsabout hunting and safety. It was the months of nights at the range practicing with our new rifles. This was all a lot of time and effort (we loved it by the way). So when the deer walked out at 125 yardsin a spot we had scouted for weeks prior and my daughter made a perfect, one shot broadside kill maybe that act was easy but there was tonsof effort put in prior to that shot |

ORIGINAL: CBM SC Ahh come on now Atlas........you know what I mean ! ;) Good luck this season maybe one day you will just find satisfaction in hunting period and not haveso much internal conflictwithin it !! Take it easy - Brent Because I (like many others have agreed with) am able to be honest and say some spots are "easier" to whack a deer then others?........seems like common sense to me. How about an answer to my question?? |
RE: Do you care how "easy" your hunting is?
ORIGINAL: kevin1 No . A meat hunter like me would drool over the place you described , besides once you limit out you would have plenty of time to hunt other things or enjoy other pursuits . If it's too easy for you then find somewhere harder to hunt . |

Oh God............here come all the quote/respond posts !! [8D]
Alright..........I give.........you may not have ever used the word "crappy"..........I probably just read between the lines of all your whiny posts about having inferior deer, overhunted public land, hikers coming through your area, and all of the others(and we know there's been plenty)!! :D But you seem to overcome.......youenjoy it the hard way............you never back down.....you never admit your wrong even if someone proves it ..........you deserve the High life (in my best Charlton Heston voice) !! ;) |

I'm beginning to think that Atlasman is actually Atlaswoman and is going through menopause this year. :D;) Oh God............here come all the quote/respond posts !! RE: Do you care how "easy" your hunting is?
ORIGINAL: atlasman You're missing the point.........I have no problems taking deer from there.........I have no problems taking deer from anywhere............I'm just saying that it is easier to kill a deer there..........and therefore my memories of deer killed under much tougher circumstances will always stand out above just plucking one off that farm. |
RE: Do you care how "easy" your hunting is?
That is a problem that i love having. I hunt various spots, and all of them are different. A few of the stands, i will only see 1 or 2 deer out of in a day, if at all, but if i do see a buck, its probably going to be a shooter. Other stands that i have, i can see upwards to 20-25 deer in a day out of. Out of those deer, most will be does and a couple of bucks, but there might not be a big one in that area. I personally like the more populated areas rather than the few and far between spots cause i love the action, even if your not going to shoot a deer, its still exciting to see them interact. Another great thing is that during the rut, those areas become big buck magnets.

ORIGINAL: kevin1 I didn't miss the point , you're saying that since it's pretty much a slam dunk then it's just too easy for you . Fine , hunt somewhere more challenging like a crowded public or a place you know has very few deer . In the meantime , could I get some directions to that farm ? :) |
