I hunt an "earn a buck" zone - I have to check in a doe before I can kill a buck. No biggie though, I like to have 3-4 for groceries.

I plan on shooting as many does as walk by my stand this year. Young bucks, no, I will pass on them. But does are a different story.

Yep, I'll take every one that offers me a shot. Antlers look pretty and you can brag about them but you sure as heck can't eat them.

I like to shoot my does early and get them out of the way. The past 2 years I've struggled with taking does early. I'm hoping to finally turn that around this year.

Of course I would. Freezers don't fill up by themselves. Takin' does also ensures that buck doe ratio doesn't get out of whack which is helpful overall.

I don't shoot does early simply because the more I have in my area the more buck traffic I get. Nothing aganist anyone that does though that's just the way I roll.

In MD, we have to take a couple does to open up our 2nd (and final) buck tag. I try to take my does early and usually wait for the rut to fill my buck tags since my chances on a big one usually improve then. I'll take a big buck if one happens by me before the rut, but usually, I'm doe hunting the first part of the season.

I'll have 3 doe tags to fill. I won't hesitate to take one on opening day.
