Zak,
Shooting out of a tree is not necessary. I've been bowhunting for 15 years, and I rarely shoot from a tree. I've killed deer from the ground and up to 25ft and have never had any problems. Just put it where I want to hit.........

Whoa Zak, I forgot that you lived right where the hurricane hit the worst. Glad everything is still there for you. Lots of people weren't so lucky. My neighbor's sister lives in Ocean Springs and they haven't heard from them since Monday night I believe.

I can hardly hit the bullseye when shooting from the stand in my yard with field tips. I do not like shooting out of a stand. I just start shaking. It feels like I am about to fall. I need more practice before I hit the woods.

Do you have a stable platform and a safety harnass? Just forget about the heights and act like your on the ground. I know that's hard but when you have a deer walk within bow range, you'll likely be so focused on the killzone that you'll forget all about being 25 ft. up in a tree.
