My recurve and longbow only make a subdued "tunk" on release. With my selfbow, all I hear is the arrow cutting air.:)

i dont hear much from my parker but the sound of an arrow hitting a deer shure sounds good :D

never really noticed too much with the pro 40, unless I punch the trigger then I hear few choise words

I agree with most that it is because you are so close to it. I thought my bow was kinda loud until my friend shot it and I could barely hear it.

I just normally hear the 'oohhhs' and 'aahhhs' of those standing nearby... :D;)
