It occurs when you release the arrow and not when you draw the bow back? What type of bow are you shooting? What rest, sight, stabilizer, etc... do you have on it?

It only occurs when i release the arrow. I am shooting a browning rage. The rest sight and stabilizer came with the bow.

I am familiar with the rage and cannot think of anything in the bow's design itself that would lend itself to squeaking. Typically this type of thing may be the result of a cable slide sticking or a limb squeaking because it isn't seated properly in the limb pocket...or if you are using a drop away rest then possibly something with the linkage, etc...

Take it to a reputable pro shop in your area and have them take a listen to it. They should be able to figure it out very quickly.

I will second the cable guard. My son's HCA Micro Quad was doing the same thing and drove me nuts for two days before I could pinpoint it. Try a LIGHT coat of pure mineral oil on the guide rod and see if it helps.

Woah! Don't put any kind of oil on your cable guard! It'll attract and hold dust and grit, causing your slide - and maybe the guard too - to wear out faster. Just clean the guard and slide real well with denatured alcohol. If that doesn't fix the problem, you need a new slide.

I have use mineral oil several times in the past. It hasn't caused me any trouble but I clean my bow regularly. It works for me but it's your call.
