I am looking tto buy a new release and was wondering what everyone recomended. i want one that is a comfortable wrist strap and has a very light index trigger pull. ive looked at local stores but everything seems like it takes a great deal of pressure to release. im getting a new one because my old one is starting to tear up my wrist and is getting old. thanks for any help

i have a tru-fire pro rope release and i love it,,it has easy pull and a adjustable travel,,the only thing is ive only found it at gander mountain,,it has seen at least 200 shots and the rope,(which conects the release head to the wrist strap) is still in exlent condition,, the wrist strap is about 1.5 to 2 " widevelcro and is very comfortable,,the release i started with was real comforetable as well it was also made by tru-fire,,i think i have seen the style at gander mountain that is smae as it,,my dad found it in field he was discing last fall,,it was a glove type that had a thing that went up though the middle of your hand,,i loved it cause i could pull it back with that,,that only problem was that it was always in the way when pulling arrows out of target,,and it did not fit very well over gloves.

Scott Mongoose. hands down one of the best releases out there. a little pricey (about 70) but it is a buckle release, light trigger weight/pull, and very durable.

I am currently using a Tru-Ball Stinger. It has a trigger sensitivity adjustment screw so that should help with your preference for a light trigger. It also has a nice adjustment feature which allows you to custom adjust the length of the entire release to fit you as a shooter. Price is the kicker...typically around $35.

Fletchunter shorty with a non velcro slip over wrist strap (no noise at all).

Most have sensitivity adjustments. IMO, a real light trigger is not something I would want for a release. You would have to be very vigilant not to even touch the trigger before the sight pin settles on the target. I don't want resistance in a release but sure don't want a hair trigger either.

Tru-Ball Tornado, or Scott Mongoose.

I've bought a bunch of differentbrands and modelsand the one I've settledon is the T.R.U.-Ball Short-N-Sweet, with the buckle strap. Fits securely, yet comfortably, on my wrist and the "trigger" is very light, even without adjustment (adjustment is easy, as is the case with most releases). Don't have to do much more than think about releasing and it fires.

The Scott Mongoose is a great release. If youuse a string loop you might not like how big the jaws are on the release.

I changed my release this year to a TRU Ball Short and Sweet with the buckle strap. I prefer the buckle over velcro for quietness and also because of durability. If you use a string loop on your bow this is a fantastic release. About $60 at Bass Pro Shops.
