Default Land owners just a little to Greedy

Its it just me or the land owners now adays want you to pay them to hunt when years previous they let a guy hunt for half the meet or to just help him control some of the crop damage? What happend to the good ole days when a guy would let ya hunt and didnt ask you for 500 to 1000$ to kill a deer? Its pretty sad that landowners have done this. There are thousands of guys and gals that cant afford to pay that kind money to do something the love and then forced to get elbow to elbow on public land. Now before every land owner trys to freak out and yell at me iam not saying all landowners just several in ohio that i have visited this year all seem to want big money from a guy to kill a deer. Its just sad to see our sport get turned in this direction.

hmm.. maybe its becouse landowners are getting tired of picking up after hunters who leave trash or maybe its from fear of getting sued..could be getting tired of running live stock after hunters leave gates open. Could be becouse alot of hunters wont follow simple rules asked by landowners. You dont want to know how many pop bottles, candy wrappers, or shell casings ive picked up on our farm or how many times ive had to chase cattle due to gets left open. Its no many hunters who do such things maybe1% of them but one bad apple can spoil a bunch. Its most likely greed doing this its more like landowners fed up with unrespectfull hunters who feel they can do as they please on another mans land.maybe its not landowners whose changing maybe it is hunters who arenot as thankfull as they once were.we dont charge to hunt on our farm we just simply say no. yes it is a shame that it has come to this but look at it from both sides before you judge. now if it isa landowner trying tomake money...then yes i believe it to be wrong but if it is a man protected his land, livestock, crops,or lively hood from disrespectfullhunters then cleary it is justified.
just a thought.

In a nutshell.... liability, taxes, upkeep and the market determine's what it's worth to hunt on someone's property, I don't see where greed enter's into it, if you've been taking care of land and getting nothing in return for year's what's wrong with finally having some money come in instead of it alway's going out.Better get used to it "these are the good old days" that we live in now, I can't wait to see what the next 10 years bring. I'm guessing that we will wish that we were back in the good ole days of 2005.

yes i don understand that landowners have have bad experiences with a few so called hunters and there lack of respect. What about a guy like me that offers half the meat of any kill offers to help bail hay ,mend fences,or what ever the farmer would need help doing around his land and i always give the land owner a gift certificate to free dinnner for him and his wife at a nice place to eat for x-mas.Isnt just being a good ole boy enough anymore do the good ole boys have to pay for some so called hunters sad disrespect of someones land.

I can't understand how in today's day and age that hunters abuse land they are lucky enough to have access to hunt.

My family and I got permission to hunt a cherry of a spot this year.........now it is on hold because of what some jerk did last year. No one has been aloud to hunt this land for 10 years.........it's owned by 2 guys together. Last year one guy decides to let his friend hunt with a muzzleloader and at 7:20 am he whacks a monster 12 pt. Everyone is happy (especially the lucky hunter)...........well 3 days later one of the landowners went out to the land to dump some cut wood off and found that same hunter there with 10 of his buddies [] He FREAKED out and now the whole deal is on hold because he is so pissed at hunters in general he doesn't want us to go this year out of fear of a repeat performance.

How can you be so stupid as to ruin a cherry---honey hole---dream spot like that in a matter of days??

Freakin' idiots.

I know people that have had their dogs killed because of disagreements with people hunting their land...........there are some real winners out there man

I have problems finding places to hunt in my area. Many places have deer and they actually complain about all their trees and bushes being eatin, And they themselves dont hunt. And wont let no one else hunt. And if they do they have their hands in your wallet. But it comes down to the fact.Their property .they paid for it and pay the taxes. They can do what they want with it.
