Default Bow vs. Gun

I was just curious if you bow hunters out there, rifle hunt as well? I haven't been bowhunting very long, but I don't plan to use a rifle here on out (atleast not for deer anyway). Bowhunting opens up a whole new level of challenge. I am just curious if some of you feel the same.

I rifle hunt as well. Since I seriously got into bow hunting (6 yrs ago) I have been obsessed w/ it. Its to the point that i dread rifle season, because it ruins the bow hunting. The deer act totally different and more natural during bow season and it is 1000x more exciting to kill a deer w/ a bow than rifle. I have about 2.5 months of bow season before gun season starts, which gives me alot of time to find a deer and hunt it, making it much more challenging and exciting. I love bowhunting. Once you go bow you never go back.

I still rifle hunt some. We have to down here to be able to harvest enough deer. Overpopulation and skewed buck:doe ratios are a big problem in this part of Alabama. I guess, basically, I shoot deer with a rifle, I hunt them with a bow.

I am very quickly coming to that same state of mind. Bowhunting just " does it " for me. I do agree about the deer acting different though. Personally, I havent seen it. However like I stated I just got into bowhunting last year, and that would make perfect sense. Thanks for the input guys

I rarely rifle hunt anymore, I will alternate rifle and bowduring spring bear season, but I love bowhunting and the quietness... Rifle elk and deer season is so outragous here now it sounds like the 4th of July... I do bowhunt in our rifle deer seasons.

I've whittled my gun hunting down to pistols and shotguns. They provide enough challenge, pistol hunting, is tough just becuase of the short range and shot selection, and the zones and seasons in which I have to use the shotgun are so pressured that just seeing a deer is tough enough. For me it is 10x easierhunting withmy bow during the normal archery season, that it is hunting with a shotgun during the late season.

I hunt with my bow during any season that permits it. My guns pretty much only get shot at the shooting range.

I have a ton of guns.Do I hunt with them? NO I do go kill a few animals to eat but to me it is no longer a chalange to gun hunt. Most of the time I only take a gun if I have some friends that want to go kill something.
I am lucky here in Montan I can use a bow in some spots where there never can be any guns. This keeps the deer/elk on there same patterns it allso keeps many many people out of the spots.I know a ton of people that call them selfs hunters but when they see it and cant shoot it they stop going there. To me this is not a hunter.

If I am to hunt I will use the bow.If I want meat and need to kill NOW I will take my rifle.I have killed 7 elk in 6 years here in Montana so I dout I will see than rifle as much.
