Just my nickname at work and with the guys, it's kind of an abbrievation for my last name, because it's so hard to say.

quiksilver 08-15-2005 07:55 AM

RE: your user name

I spent a couple summers on the coast, and bought a Quiksilver 9'6" surfboard. I learned to surf, met a few surfer girls and the rest is history. Looking back, it's that surfboard that brings back some of my best memories, and it gave me a chance to do something that very few people get a chance to do. This board has led me to some of the most rockin' partiesand some of the coolest people I'll evermeet.

Surfing may be the one thing that I love as much as hunting, and it keeps me in touch with my youth. When you're paddling out, and you see everyone sitting on their boards, waiting for a wave, there is no age. There is no gender. There is no race. You see people who share a common bond. Everybody just tries to get the most out of Mother Nature, one wave at a time. A rashguard, boardshortsand an ankle leash may well be my favorite outfitother thancamouflage.

RE: your user name

It was the user name that our Internet provider gave us when we first signed up. I apparently have a very common name, Brad Young, and nearly every combination of that is usually taken on most boards and forums I try signing up for, so I just keep it the same for everything. Its one of the few things I can type without looking at the keyboard... :D

AntlerSoup 08-15-2005 08:57 AM

RE: your user name

When I would come back from bowhunting emptyhanded, my dad would ask if I've had any luck?. Several timesI would explain that I had passed up some smaller bucks. He would ask mewhy and point out that I could not eat the antlers. I would tell him that I was planning on making soup with them.

Well I have recently moved to West Virginia. That makes me a WVBowhunter and the 10 is in reference to the jersey number that I wore whenI played college baseball. Thus the name WVBowhunter10.
WVBowhunter10, I would like to say Welcome to West Virginia! Hope your hunting is good!

My user name of course tells it all, West Virginia Hunter and the 129 well that is my birthdate.

GRIZZLYMAN 08-15-2005 02:43 PM

RE: your user name

I was nicknamed Grizzly in college when the punk that I had for a room mate and a couple of his frat buddies decided to play a prank on me while I was sleeping. They said that they heard me growling like a bear when they woke me up.I put a couple of them on the floor and they didn't get up fast. The name stuck through the rest of my college years and beyond and evolved into Grizzlyman. Most people think it is because of my size (6'5", 290), but it has more to do with my temperment when I was younger, skinnier, and less patient.:D

RE: your user name

How did I come up with my name? Well, because I'm a total dip$hit. I thought I was entering my password and then it said something like, welcome 121553. That really sucks, I want a cool name like you all but all I am is a freakin number. I wonder if its too late to change it?

I tell her that it is her fault......If she would cook better meals, I would not have to eat fast food. Of course, she doesn't care!!!![&:][&:]

RE: your user name

Well i happen to have a beagle now and have always liked them... but thats not where it comes from:)

Our hunting crew all has walkie talkie's for hunting so we can chat with each other, and we all have special handles, mine was lil guido(italian for lil guy) who was a wrestler and we were fans of wrestling. anyways we were meeting at a certain destination in our woods and when i came thru the woods i jumped a few deer and my cousin said "hmm he's more of a little beagle" so thats where it comes from. 001 is just lengthinin Beagle1 since theres only one of me

jmac220 08-16-2005 01:49 PM

RE: your user name

jmac is one of "many" nicknames I picked up in the Army—and 220 stands for "Second to None"—which is the motto for the 2nd Infantry Division—as well as the name of my personal Graphic Design/Advertising business.

Actually has nothing to do with hunting—go figure!

Was out on a coyote hunt, and after I made the first kill, asked myself "Who's the #1 predator now?". Plus my wife always used to ask me if there wasn't an animal I hunted.
