Default The Extension of Daylight Savings Time in the Fall.

Did anyone else note that they will be extending daylight savings time this fall into early November? This helps in giving me a little extra time to slide into a stand after work during the best time of the year. Anyone else pick up on it?

It actually doesn't go into effect until 2007. But it's still good news for those after work hunts in a couple of years!

Yup I heard about it also. And I too think it will be great. But it's not set in stone yet. Many people appose it because there kids will be at the bus stop or walking to school in the dark.

Good news, we have to wait until 2007 and it will only be extended another week into November instaed of the last weekend in October. However, here in NJ that bodes well as this is leading up to the height of the rut!

This is set in stone as far as politics go. Changing daylight savings by 4 weeks is a huge publicity thing and the Pres. has already signed the Bill and told the nation about it. Smart or not, it will happen now. I think this is pretty good for us hunters. The sun comes up, by the clock, one hour later and sets one hour later. This will make it much easier to get to that stand in time after work. Too bad it won't happen for 2 more years. I bet the large oil companies will get their tax breaks this year! Typical politicians. Spend 12 billion to save 1% on our yearly energy. Why don't they just drill and produce our own oil?

It would help the fisherman, too. I wish they would do it this year.

It gives me an extra hour to sleep in the Am and lets the rush hour traffic die down a bit in the Pm. I can't wait.

This is supposed to save energy . Pffftttt !
If they were really serious about saving energy they would mandate much higher mileage for vehicles instead of pandering to Detroit . Adding to DST is a temporary solution at best and won't achieve much since everybody will be turning their lights on early for a longer period , that offsets the benefit that would have been derived by keeping the lights off longer during the later part of the day . Total waste of time and only a feel good solution at best .
