I shoot xx78 2117's. The finished arrow weighs in at 510 grains!
Gotcha beat, DK... I shoot "tire irons" - XX75 Camo Hunters 2315's and they weigh in at 568 grains!

Intresting story Red.
Wolf, why did you switch back to alum.? Just curious.
Aurthur, I have made wooden arrows up here out of raw cedar, I'm hell at 25 yrds with them.

I couldn't handle it no more and shot again this eve. The groups are down to the size of a tennis ball at 20 yrds using a glove. So far so good.

Bobby, I switched back to heavy aluminum arrowsbecause I group better with them. My bow is is quieter also.

I have and shoot both , but my primary hunting shafts are feather fletched aluminum . It's hard to improve upon a classic , and I have much greater confidence with them .

I shoot aluminum also. Thought about switching to carbon a year or so ago but decided that the price wasn't worth it to me. Aluminum arrows kill just as good as carbon arrows do and are less expensive to buy.

I shoot 2216's in one bow & 2219's in another. I have to mail order them tho but that dont bother me. I just dont wait till I need them NOW. I'v learned to do most of my own work on my bows but when I went to the shop they tried selling me on carbons.
Maybe someday but not yet.

I shoot aluminums exclusively on all my bows.

Carbons don't leave no impresion on me and i don't see the need for them. My aluminums work great for me so I see no need for change.I am not into speed unless i'm racing
