RE: Who still shoots feathers?

I recently switched to feathers to lighten up my arrows a bit. I like the speed I came up with. Although I never tested the bow through the chrony with the vanes, with the feathers, I was able to get 321fps at 65# and 28" with a hunt ready bow. That works for me.

I do. I originally learned to shoot instinctively with a recurve and feathers. Thru the years I have shot everything - but still prefer to shoot off the shelf w/feathers. I get perfect arrow flight, my rest never breaks, loosens, etc. and it works great.

No reason to fix what isn't broke - and I save myself $50-75 over the latest-and-greatest newfangled rest that pops up each year!

Tried shooting vanes for a while but they dont seem to last or get as true a flight path as feathers. So now I just shoot feathers. Color doesnt matter to me as long as it's a nice and bright easy to see.

Feathers are the only material I can possible use for the longbow. I have used vanes in the past on the compound and probably would again - if I ever pick itup again.
