Hoyt stories

I've shot Hoyt since I was 15 and I still and always will. I have shot Mathew's,Bowtech,PSE and Martin and choose Hoyt. The only bad stuff I have heard is the factory strings aren't the best but I have not encountered this problem. My old Raider still has the same factory strings from 6 years ago. Back in the day Hoyt was getting a bad rap cause stores were setting them up incorrectly. I was told that by abow tecat Dick's Sporting goods.

I killed my first archery deer with a prehistoric hoyt plastic-wheeled behemoth of a bow. It claimed that it hadsome letoff, but I really don't think it did.It was the biggest piece of crap. I was 14, and on the opener, Iput my little treestand on my back and rode my bike to some farm across the highway. Ihid my bike and went huntin'. At daybreak,I missed a doe at about 35 yards by no less than 20 feet. I was so nervous, I couldn't even aim. An hour later, I stuck a little runt doe right in the guts at 20 yards and she just fell over. I loved that bow.
If my memory serves me, I was using Easton Gamegetter green aluminum arrows - 2117 Lincoln Logs with some half bent and rusty Bear broadheads that somebody was throwing out.

The very first bow that I ever owned was a Hoyt Excel that my father bought me years ago. I used it for years but never was able to to kill anything with it but I really liked the bow. I later bought a High Country to use for hunting but always kept the Hoyt shot in. Well luck had it that the day before season two years ago, my High Country busted while target shooting the day before season. I had to take out the old Hoyt and luck had it that I double lunged an old doe from about 25 yards. That bow is still ready to shoot and hopefully Santa will be nice to me this year and bring me a new Hoyt.

I love my Razortec. This will be my first full season to hunt
with it,so I can't wait to bust my first deer or hog with it
I got it at the end of last season but only got to carry it
a few days. It is great and I'm ready to break it in right!

I just switched to Hoyt 3 years ago. The protec is a great bow. I shot my first robinhood with it, and have taken numerous deer with it. I did have to replace the factory strings within the first year though.
