I shoot 60#. I could go more, but I can hold the bow straight out at a deer and draw with NO movement or having to hold it in the air and draw down like some guys do. If you set it too much, remember that some day you may have to let down and wait on that big buck. Have you ever seen someone let down a bow set too high for the shooter? Not a pretty sight, unless you are a deer intent on survival.

I agree with livbucks but I would go one step further to say that if you can't set down in a chair and pick your feet up off of the ground and still draw the weight comfortably without raising the bow and then hold it comfortably then you are drawing too much weight.

I have my Golden Eagle Revolution set at 63#. Like others have said before, the key is good arrows and a sharpened broadhead.

62 lbs. And I have no plans of switching to a heavier bow for now.

My setup is listed in my signature.

65# draw weight, 30" draw length, 65% letoff. I don't mess with it... it just feels right to me.

70#, 28.5", with 80% let off. Get it as high as you can comfortably shoot it.

between 50-60#, its at 51 right now. If I decide to hunt this year I may turn it back up to 60 and retune it. If I were to get a strictly target bow it would be around 45 lbs I think (indoor spots).
