Whisker Biscuit and Carbon arrows

I'm thinking about putting a whisker biscuit on my PSE stingray and switching from 2413 aluminum to carbon. I have not shot carbon before and would like some advise on what carbon arrows to try Beman ICS, ACC etc??

Both are excellent arrows with the acc's on top in my opinion. I have hunted with them both.

I'd recommend silky smooth carbons for the biscuit. The rougher ones can make a draggin noise when drawing.
IMHO- beman ics blacks.

Throw a vote in for the Beman ICS hunters. I typically end up using them as my hunting arrow each season...though the Easton Excels might also get the nod.

On a related note, make sure you get the Medium sized biscuit if you are going to be shooting ICS style carbons. The "small size" is typically for really skinny carbons such as the Easton Axis.

I personally have never found anything better then the ACC's but they are pricey. I'm using the ACC's with a Biscuit this year and they are very quiet through the rest.

The newest is the Easton Axis . They give you internal components with a new insert design and very slim profile shafts. IMO thin shafts outperform because of minimal wind drag. The whisker biscuit should be for thin carbon shafts. I use both carbon and Whisker Biscuitand would never go back to aluminum, even if Chuck Adams paid me to. The problem with acc is they will bend some.

I shot Carbon Express CX-200's out of my biscuit, i love them, i get great accuracy, and its dead silent. I might switch to their new ultra thin arrow next spring, or at least try them out.

Do they still make those aluminum things?:D I have been shooting carbons for a decade. Get ready to move your sight and eliminate a couple of pins too!

I shoot vapor 4000 carbon arrows with a whisker biscuit and its great the only thing is that your vanes take a beating from the arrowrest. Good Luck

I'll be happy if I just maintain the speed I have as I was using 2413super lite alumimum and I figure to loose a few fps with the biscuit so if the carbon arrows make up the difference I will be satisfied.

Last season I used gold tip's with the camo pattern on them with my biscuit and it was a lil annoying. They made a slight draging sound. This season I'm going to use the same arrow just with out any pattern on it. Besides I don't think the cool camo pattern helps attract the deer.

I have waxed the shafts with pledge and it makes the noise go away. Do it early so the scent dissipates by hunting season.

I also shoot a PSE Stingray with whisker biscuit. I have been shooting Beman ICS hunters since last year, very happy with them.

Do you shoot a peep on your Stingray? I've beenhaving problems seeing through mine as the angle of the string is so steep. Just wondered if you had any problemswith this.

Just figured I'd post an update. I got the bicuit installed and swithced to the Beman ICS hunters, Shot it today and after only 3 shots I had my sights hitting dead on!! I am very happy with the setup so far and I like the penetration I'm getting with the carbon arrows but the biggest thing I discovered is a new peep sight which is made especially for short axle bows. The hole in it has a different angle and I can see thorugh it much better.

I was shooting a peep until I put on a timberline no-peep a couple of weeks ago. I would highly recommend it. It takes a littleeffort to align and get used to, but it sure beats all of the problems I was having with my peep site.

I don't have a WB rest, but I do shoot a PSE bow and wanted to add that I switched last year from Beman Hunter arrows to CX Terminator Hunters and I couldn't be happier. Those are some awesome arrows! So many guys want to go lighter and I don't get that? Give me the heaviest carbon around with a big ole Thunderhead on the end of it and I am very confident.
