RE: Spray Paint Cresting
Tried it this morning with some old carbons. Looks really good, easy to do, only added 1.3 grains(it was windy and i think i got more paint on than needed). I havnt shot them or fletched them yet to see how the glue affects the paint, but other than that its working so far.

RE: Spray Paint Cresting
ORIGINAL: Bulzeye MartinDK, the paint is actually laquer. I have to assume that's the best kind to use. Has anybody seen the Bohning Arrow Building DVD?? Anything usefull in it? |
RE: Spray Paint Cresting
Yeah guys it does work, i sprayed four arrows a couple months ago for shooting at groundhogs. They shoot very close to my regular arrows. A few chip marks but the spraypaint is staying on really well.

RE: Spray Paint Cresting
That is great I will try it.I make my own wraps from a lable machine that prints out up to 12 in wide letters,so that works out fine but does add weight.

RE: Spray Paint Cresting
Hey guys, does anybody do arrow dipping?
What kind of paint, laquer, stuff is used in that process? The dipped arrows I've seen hold up pretty well, and I'm wondering if this is the same stuff in a spray form, or if it is different. |
RE: Spray Paint Cresting
Bumping this back to the top.

RE: Spray Paint Cresting
Well, yes, sort of. The paint used for dipping is a lacquer I believe. I am not positive though. It is just applied a lot more thicker because of them being dipped.
www.eders.com has an arrow cresting kit which includes paints, brushes, dip tubes, and an electric motor to spin the arrows. Everything you need. |
RE: Spray Paint Cresting
wish I had seen this before I fletched my hunting arrows for this year...but I do have three arrows that I can do. cannot wait. very simple and well, simple!
