Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
This is a question from a HuntingNet visitor.
"I'd likeinformation on the safest, quietest, hang on treestand. Climbing sticks.... which is safe & lightweight? Never owned one before. Looking at Lone Wolf Stands & Sticks. I am 6ft. 2in. tall & am very safety minded. Can you please advise/help me out ?" |
RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
Lone Wolf stands and sticks are nice. I think I would pick summit though. I like bucksteps ofered by summit. This is just personal preference though.

RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
Gorilla makes just about the same sticks. Save about $10 per set of 3. Now in camo!

ORIGINAL: Mazur1 Gorilla makes just about the same sticks. Save about $10 per set of 3. Now in camo! Furthermore, I believe they make the best stands too. I've hunted out of Amackers, Summits, API's, Gorillas, Lone Wolfs, an a few other ones I can't remember and without a doubt in my mind I believe the Lone Wolf stand was the lightest, strongest, quietest, and easiest to set up. I can't wait to get my dirty little paws on a few of those new Alpha Assaults. ![]() |

When will you computer gurus get with the program? :D[8D]
API is the best. Their telescoping stand is great. Stand and telescoping ladder all in one. Extremely easy to set up and use. |
RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
I have an API climber.. and it works.. but it's noisy and hard to use compared to the Lone Wolf climber Iborrowed on a bear hunt. I'd buy a Lone Wolf but I'm waiting for someone to steal my API first. (I leave it at the bottom of the tree.. and still no one takes it.. ;))
The Lone Wolf climbing sticks are great too. Very easy to use. |
RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
Just leave me a map of where I can find it, and I will gladly make it disappear. ;)

:D
To be fair... I do have an olderAPI. The new ones may be better. |
RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
I throw in nother vote for the Summit like a Headhunter Lite or a Copperhead X5. Their seats are typically about 24" high whereas most others are 20" That don't seem like much but the taller you are, the more comfortable the taller seat will be. Also their Bucksteps are awesome.

RE: Which Treestand/climbing sticks?
If money is no concern the choice would be Lone Wolf in my opinion. As far as sticks, you might want to check out the Rapid Rails. They come 4 to a set and carry very easily and are extremely easy to use.
