RE: How do you size up a buck?

Over the past several years I have been looking for "eights" or better, so the first thing I try to determine is does it meet that test. Then spread outside of the ears, tine length, and mass. I am still looking for my first "book" buck (typ or non-typ). Some eights can make 125, but generally it takes a ten or better to make it. This year I intend to look for very good "eights or better". Good Luck!
