Would youShoot

RE: Would youShoot
Opening day? No I would not. Last day of the season? No I would not. By then I will have his papa.
On private land he would walk. He will be a hog in two years. You have to have patience and discipline if you want to allow yourself the best chance at seeing a P&Y deer. You let him pass and the big buck behind him will make his way following him.
At least you hope. Although if you want to take him, nothing wrong with that.

RE: Would youShoot
I would do it. I don't trophy hunt but I do limit myself to a degree and he more than fits. If that walked by my stand during bow season I would do it without thinking. That is one of the nicer deer I have seen in my area.
He would be a gonner during gun season as well, I am limited to at least 4 points on one side on the property I hunt on.
In the area I live in letting him walk so I could get him next year probably wouldn't work. Way to many people hunting that will shoot anything that moves and the properties are not large enough to expect the deer to remain resident. Or he would get taken out with vehicle instead.
I haven't been doing this long enough to let something like that walk. Like I always say, the state sold me the tags to kill deer not go nature watching.
