I finally ordered my first bow today and man I can't wait to get it in my hands! I spent about 2 hours discussing what I wanted and getting ideas from a really nice guy at the local archery shop. He is also a High Country dealer. He suggested that I go with a little longer, heavier bow for my first one because I will be able to shoot it more accurately than some of the shorter newer style bows. Anyways I ended up getting a High Country Brute Force in the 36" length. High Country had quit making them in 36" and gone to strictly 33" Evidently the guy at the shop has a good relationship with them at the factory and they agreed to build me one...so as far as I can tell their customer service is top notch. I also think I got a pretty good deal on the bow for $350. I am getting some pretty nice accessories including a dozen premium carbon arrows. I will be headed towards $600 when its all said and done, and thats a little steeper than I wanted but I am so happy the money doesn't matter. You guys better get ready for a lot of questions though...I can't wait to start shooting and September can't get here quick enough now!

Congratulations on the new bow. I had the opportunity to try one of the Brute Forces the first year that they debuted and was quite impressed with them. Nice of the gentleman to go the extra mile for you.

Big Eon...the guy is pumped about his new bow and you have to post some junk because he didn't pick a Browning...geesh...
wholelottagobble...congrats on the new bow, welcome to a great sport! Sounds like the guy at the shop had your best interest in mind instead of just trying to sell you a high dollar bow. The longer ATA will help you and will be more forgiving while you are trying to find your form. While I have not shot an HCA bow, in this day and age it is rare that you find many lemon bows...
Good luck, have fun and ask lots of questions! Best of luck this fall!!

The owner of the pro shop here in town said that he loved the way HC's shot but he quit carrying them because of their shoddy customer service. He had too many customers mad at him because of them. I don't know if this is true or not, just passing along what I was told.
