Standard nightvision does require some level of ambient light (ie stars, moonlight,or even faint artificial light). Somenightvision devices have built-in IR illuminators (IR LEDs) that provide enough ambient light toallow the NVG's to functioneven in complete darkness to limited distances.

I dont think I'm interested but wonder why they say its "cost effective"? Does that mean you can get $10,000 worth of deer with it? :eek:
