carbon vs aluminum

Last year I bought a new bow and purchased my first set of carbons. The pro shop told me you could not shoot aluminum thru a carbon set up. I tried it this weekend just to see what would happen. They seemed to fly equally well with no noticeable difference out to 40 yards. I was shooting 2315s and felt the bow was quieter and the flight of the arrows was easier to see. Anyone else ever try this? What was your results?

The only problem I could see might be the rest. Carbon arrows are thinner than aluminum, and the rest may not accomodate them as well.
As far as the bow being quieter and the arrow easier to see, well, I would suspect the aluminum arrow is heavier and flying slower.

I've done it, with the same results. Using field points! I'm sure broadheads would show a little glitch in arrow flight. The larger diameter of the 2315's sitting on a rest adjusted for carbons would result in a slightly nock low condition.
