Default To scent or not to scent?

I am fairly new here, so I am sure this has been covered before. I have in recent years experimented with scent attractacts in various situations, times, etc... What does everyone feel about the use of attractacts? Do you or don't you use attractacts? If yes, what do you use and what is experiences have you had-good/bad with using scent attractacts?

Are you talking about food scents or sexual attractants? I have had little to no luck with food scents though rutting attractants work a bit better provided they are used correctly and at the right time of the year. During the first 3 weeks of our archery season (early October) I only use regular doe pee or buck urine...mostly as a cover and relaxing scent. Once the end of October grows close then I might switch to one of the more popular doe-n-estrous scents to serve as attractant. In some cases that works quite well while in others the bucks don't even seem to notice it.

PABowhntr- I am talking more sexual attractacts- Sorry for not being clear on that. In my opinion the food is already there. I also use scent in the same manner as you describe. I have really only gotten the attention of small yearling bucks and does though. I think it is tough to beat the real thing when hunting the rut and the big-uns are already on the trail of a hot doe. I have tried a few different brands too. Do you think it makes a difference on where the specimen comes from? Local vs. Not
