Trophy of a lifetime
Today, opener in KY, was the beginning of my 3rd year bowhunting. I had taken a couple shots but had neveer been quite good enough to keep the nerves down and put the shot where it needed to be. I went out hoping for some meat for the freezer. I seen 18 deer but only had a shot at one. I took the shot and it happened. MY FIRST DEER EVER WITH A BOW. It was a spike, but to me it was the largest deer I had ever seen. The adrenaline rush with the hunt and then the THANKS for being able to take such a fine animal, is more than any one person can imagine.
I know someone on here will think that a spike is just that, just a spike. But any animal that gives his/her life to me for the purpose of feeding my family, is more than just an animal. It is a creature with all my respect.
Chris
Sorry no pictures, I don't have the film developed yet.

I hope that everyone on here has more class than that. I say Congratulations on your first deer with a bow. There is definately something special about that first one and one to never be forgotten. I try to remember all the animals I've taken with a bow but none come so easy to my mind as my first doe and buck with my bow. Your buck is no doubt a trophy in my mind. Thanks for sharing and hurry with the pics.!!!!

Congrats on you're first buck. Bowhunting is great isn't it. Nothing like the rush of having deer so close you can't look them in the eye. Hope you get many more....Fletch
