Help on Scent elimination

I don't know if this is true or if it works, I have never been able to try it, but several years ago (before Scent-Lok etc.) I read this article, that nature had a way of helping/hurting the scent factor. It went like this:
You should not eat ANY meat or meat products for 5 to 7 days before hunting. The logic was that a wolf, bear etc. that had eaten within 5 - 7 days didn't need food too bad, so he gave off his odor. But if he had NOT eaten and about to starve he had very little if any odor.
The author, claimed it worked for him deer hunting! As I said, I don't know, but it does sound plausable.
Take it for what it works, but let me know if it does work for you, and I will try harder to do without meat/meat products.
