RE: 2005 Archery Goals
This year i would like to get a doe or mature buck, while i have never killed a deer in archery season, I had an oppurtunity last year to get a small six pointer and passed. I never get to bow hunt as much as gun, since i have football at the time, the only day i can go is sunday. I would be happy to get a doe or two with a bow this year though.

RE: 2005 Archery Goals
I have a 2005 early season, high country rifle tag for mule deer in Colorado. I'm going to take about 14 days and couple that hunt with an archery elk hunt as well. 180" + mule deer goal with rifle, any legal 4x4 or larger bull with my bow
First week of November should see me in Kansas, goal is a 200" buck I saw last fall
Arkansas hunting on my own land, any legal deer with my recurve I'll be happy with

RE: 2005 Archery Goals
As this will be my first year bow hunting, I'd like to just get close enough to take a mature deer with my bow. Buck or doe doesn't really matter too much to me. I enjoy the thrill of being up close and personal to deer, and I look forward to being in the woods during the peak of the rut.

RE: 2005 Archery Goals
My only goal for this year is to make a good, clean kill on any animal I shoot at. Over the past 3 years I have missed 4 bonafide shot opportunities to put a Pope and Young deer on my wall, and screwed up each and every one of them. I'm not going to let it happen again.

RE: 2005 Archery Goals
My primary goal is to scout hard and put myself in position to take a mature animal. The emphasis for me is on preparation,if I put in the effort to be in the right spots the opportunities will come.Last year I didn't spend enough time scouting,I relied only on area's that I have traditionally hunted in the past and I didn't see a mature buck.
My biggest goal will be to free myself to scout more and to venture into new area's.
I enjoy it all!But the anticipation you have when you know that you are in great spots is hard to beat!Lastly I will say that I place less pressure on myself to take an animal then I used to.I give it all I can with the time I am able to devote to it and what ever happens, happens.

RE: 2005 Archery Goals
I am new here, so hello to you all! My goals this year are to continue improving my set-ups and to get me in position to take a nice buck. Although last year I was unable to connect, i did end up with a coyote. Pass thru at 35yards and 50yard tracking. That was exciting.
I don't have the funds to buy a new bow, so I put some add ons to try out and so far it is looking like a bulls-eye
