last weekend, i was sitting in the oaks with a hard hat on. acorns were droppin like crazy. anyways, a big deer came in with a big snout. her nose was long , characteristic of a doe. But it had a 1 inch antler on one side and a 3 inch antler on the other it was followed closely by 2 fawns. the fawns ate right with it, usually within a foot or less. when the fawns wandered to the next tree, then left the area, the doe went right with them. never acted like it didnt want the fawns near, like most bucks do. i wish the 3 inch antler was shorter, cuz i would arrow it and tag it with a zone T tag. If it was a buck it would be nice to get it out of the gene pool, if it was a doe, it would just be cool to shoot. Any one else ever seen this? Maybe im mistaken, but i doubt it

I've never personally seen this in the wild however, it seems every year somewhere in the U.S. someone shoots an antlered doe. It happens although rate.

When I was taking hunter ed the instructor kept saying "normal" buck and "normal" doe because of the instances of does having horns. I've seen some pictures of does having huge basket racks. So don't think you were imagining it<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
