I've always simply used a drag rag covered with doe urine while walking to my stand.

I tried the drag rag once and lost it. I wear rubber boots and when I get about 50yds or so to my stand I'll put a few drops of scent on the tips of my boots, I'll keep adding scent about every 20yds, untill I get to my stand, and then I will lay out scent around my peremiter.

I heard that it you were fortunate to find a couple of scrapes that you could put a couple of drops of buck sent on the scrapes and start your sent trail. Have any of you heard of such a thing? The only sent I've ever used is simply cover sent, but this year and from here on out I am going to start leaving sent trails. Any suggestions on which sents work the best? Have any of you seen these sent bottles? their about the size of a pill bottle. You pour your sent into the the bottle and it has like a candle wik in it to soak it up.Their is also an aligator clip on the lid to attach to a tree limb. The wik is attached to the lid and the other end of the wik is attached to the bottom of the bottle. Before you get to your stand you open the bottle and attach it to a tree limb using the aligator clip. I would think the bottle would spook the deer. Have any of you used these and how did they work.

Thanks for the help.
