Quick Spin Vanes
Just purchased enough of these new Quick Spin Vanes to fletch a dozen arrows. Thought I would check and see if there were any archers using them now and had comments about them. Good or Bad..!!

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
I use them for 3D tourneys as well for hunting. excellent. no probs. w/ them. Nap had a test lab set up at the shoot in Vegas this year. Had rpm of 2500. Straight vanes were at 325 and helical vanes were at 750 rpm. until some one makes one better. I'll stick w/ what works.

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
Thanks for the info... I just finished fletching the dozen I bought, so the next thing is to throw a few down range and see.!

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
I used the 4" last year and they flew great for me. A little heavy, but my accuracy seemed to improve over 3" feathers that I was using before. I am going to try some 2.25" on ACC's this year.

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
They do seem to be a great product and they will indeed stabilize the arrow better than any other fletch combo I've ever tried. I have wanted to try the shorter 2 1/4" but I've been using a template to trim a 3" version that seems to be working extremely well!

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
Have you guys seen a performance difference between the 4" and the 2 1/2" vanes, well enough to make the switch.?
I am shooting the Mathews - Black Max 2, so I am not worried about losing a little speed with the bigger vane if the performance is a little better. So, if the 4" are a little more stabile, I will stick with them unless there is a difference... |
RE: Quick Spin Vanes
My friend just switched over to them and they are much louder than standard vanes. That was my first reaction. Plus they wrinkled after less than 100 shots. That might be due to rest contact. They shoot great and stabalize amazing but those are a couple things I noticed.

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
I bought them and put them on 12 arrows. Didn't improve accuracy unless I took my bow out of tune. Didn't group any better when my bow was in tune than feathers did. Easy to damage (Wavey). I will stick with feather.

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
I dont get a different sound from the quick spins than w/ vanes. Also, if they are waving up its because your getting contact from your rest or bow. I have the same set for six months and mine are straight. and shoot sweet.

RE: Quick Spin Vanes
I tried them last year and was NOT impressed, not the least bit. They just don't hold up to alot of use. I actually kept one in my quiver during hunting season in-case I happened to damage a feather on the way in-or-out of a post. Personally, I like to practice with what I hunt with. I'd much rather be outside shooting than re-fletching arrows every-other week. Another point, unlike feathers, once they are damaged, they are really noisy and don't fly worth a pooh! I'm sticking with Feathers for about 1/3 the price and 3 times the durability! Good luck yo!
