RE: Quick Spin Vanes

My hunting buddy just switched some of his arrows from 4" vanes to 4" Quick spins. He said that he didn't get any better accuracy at all. Shot just the same as the other arrows.

He's either really good or...? For my averageness I noticed a difference right away. I'm a firm believer in try what you might to your satisfaction. It really shouldn't matter what equipment you have as long as you are "on the path to enlightenment Grasshopper". OR " you dance with what brung ya".

Poluke,

I don't know if he's considered really good or not, but he gets about 1 inch groups whether he shoots regular vanes or the quick spins at 20 yards. Why would he lie about it?

You know where he got his quick spins?? Somebody on this forum gave them to him for free. In fact, the guy didn't even charge him for shipping. Apparently my buddy isn't the only one that didn't get any results from the quick spins.

I'd say he's really good and maybe should try a little competition. My experience with the QS was instant, of course 1" groups are not in my bag of brag but I did notice better flight and did experience "tighter" groups at 30, 40, and 50 yds. Tighter meaning smaller than a 1 lb coffee can lid. I quit trying to group 'cause I was doing a lot of refletching. Now I attempt to focus more on "spot shooting". Good hunting to ya.

Just read through all of these posts and i saw some debating on what sizes are best, 4 inch or 2.5 inch quick spins. Which are you guys having the best results with? I'm currently shooting carbon gold tips, i believe they have 4 inch fletchings on them now, which size of QS would you recomend?

I have the 1.5" for target/3D and 2.25" for hunting (new this year for me). The 1.3" seem to work well for me. I'm not the super competitive type and I shoot in the middle of the group as far as scores are concerned. Like I've said before the equipment you use should please you (you alone). Most of the "middle guys" are successful on their hunts. Does that make the equipment they use better than the others? I think not. I think your confidence in your equipment along with a spot of luck makes you successful in all respects. You should try what you want and make your decisions based off your own experience.
