Ok I know there have been tons of discussion on arrows here but I need a reconemdation based on experience. Up here in Central Maine, there are two bow shops where I can buy arrows. One shop carries GoldTip XT and the other carries Super Carbon. Both arrows are just over 8.6 gr/in, .003 straightness and cost 79 per doz. What arrow would you go buy right now if you were looking for some new arrows?

If I had to pick one, I would go with the Gold Tips. I have never heard of the other arrows.

bigbuck--not sure if the figures you've got is on the ball.
Looks like you're talking about the 5575 arrows.
The GT 5575 XT Hunter arrows are 8.2 gpi and a straightness tolerance of +/- .003".
The Super Carbon Magum arrows 55/70 are 8.1 gpi with a +/- .003" S.T also.
What's the make/model of bow, the bow's DW, your draw length and the arrow length, this info will better assist in finding you the better of the two shafts.
However from what I have seen so far, you could be better off with the Gold Tip shaft.

Super Carbons are a nice arrow. There are a couple shops around here that swear by them and have had better luck with them than the GT's. But I am sure there are dozens of other shops that fell differently.

I am shooting a Jennings trophy master. 29"@ 65 lbs.
I have also been looking into the Radial x wave by pse they have an arrow(hunter) with about the same specs. I really like the pse radial x weave pro but I cant see spending the extra money for the pros.
I will be using these arrows for hunting mostly and the occasional shooting with friends.
I will take any advice.
Thanks.

I have the pse radial weaves and won't be buying them again next time. The vanes don't want to stick worth a darn and the nocks come out to easy. My next set of arrows are going to be line cutters.

Working with what you've got, the Gold Tip XT Hunter 7595 weighing about 400 grains (total) will give you about 252 fps at the bow with about 56 KE. Out to 70 yards, the arrow velocity should be around 223 fps with about 44 KE.

ampa
would you go with the 7595 or the 5575? I am actuall right around 28.5" And could cut them down to 28. Either way I am right on the edge.

Bigbuck--here's what you're looking at:- Shortening the shaft to 28" using 100 grain points, DW 65# and your DL 29".
The GT XT Hunter Black 5575 will weigh around 371 grains, at the bow will have a velocity of 262 ft/sec with a KE of 56. This arrow will be slightly 'underspined'--meaning that @ 65# pounds your bow will be about 6.3 # too heavy. Out to 70 yards the arrow (assuming the most perfect wind conditions) your arrow speed will be about 230 ft/sec with a KE of 44.

Now with the XT 7595 Hunter Black (GT), your figures are almost the same. You'll have a KE at the bow of 56# but a 'bit' slower--254 ft/sec.
Your speed at 70 yards will be 225 ft/sec 44 KE again, a little slower, but this time your bow will be about 6.1 # too light. In otherwords, you can crank down your limbs to 70 pounds and this arrow will work better. As it is overspined @ 65#. Better to be on the heavy side, less vibrations, noise, etc.
If I were in your position I would opt for the heavier arrow.
I wish I could have helped you a bit more--but the choice of arrows you have are limited and we're trying the get the 'best match' here.
