I picked up the 04 xTec last may for $599. Not sure what the vTec's are running but I would guess about the same here.

M.T. yes the mathews are good but as I found out there are other bows out there. I was a hard core mathews man for a long time and switched to a hoyt this year. Both are awesome bows. As far as price There is not much difference.

Xarmy55, IMO the mathews are not really that over rated but I also think that alot of bowshooters out there are guilty of buying a bow because one of their buddies or mentors is shooting that brand of bow and doing well with it.

I am keeping both my lx and my protec. The hoyt will be used for target and the lx will be used for hunting. Both brands have my vote.

I just priced the Ulta Tech and the Pro Tech from Hoyt and found that both bows are the same price. I compared two different pro shops prices and found that there was a 10$ difference on the camo models but a 20$ difference on the target color models. Indiana pro shop $719.00 Ultra Tech camo model $60.00 more for target color. Ohio pro shop $729.00 Ultra Tech camo model and $799.00 for target colors. I am currently shooting a 2004 Razor Tech fell in love with it when I purchased it but now the new BowTechs have caught my eye.
