RE: the block or black hole?
stay away from the Hole. I had less than 200 (more like less than 100) shots thru mine and statred to get pass throughs. I was pi$$ed. Contacted the company and they wanted me to ship it back on my dime. Then they said to shoot at the corners (thanks a lot). I told them to kiss my a$$ and vowed to let everyone I could know that their products and service are junk. By the way the Block is made by the same company. Some say the block is a bit better because of it's thickness (????) I wouldn't pay money for either. I bought a Morrel Yellow Jacket this summer and have been very happy with it. Don't have enough shots in it yet to give it a 100% thumbs up but I like what I've seen so far (good stopping, easy removal, great price)

RE: the block or black hole?
Does the life span of these things vary if you are shooting from an elevated position versus on the ground? I would think if you were shooting from a tree stand, the target would get chewed up faster?

RE: the block or black hole?
if your shooting from the ground lay the target w/ layers horizantally
if from tree turn target on its side so the layers are vertically |
RE: the block or black hole?
Another vote for The Cube with broadheads. It doesn't sliver like the Block, plus you can shoot it from all six sides, which makes it last and last...
I've shot thousands of broadheads into my Cube and it has many thousands left in it. Not too good for FPs though (they're hard to pull out). |
RE: the block or black hole?
My block has had thousands of shots in it and still in good shape but like mentioned earlier don't leave it outside. Mine got a little hard when left in the weather.

RE: the block or black hole?
I have had a block for the past three years and it works great - I have left it outside and haven't experienced any issues with it. But the center is wore out with pass-thrus with both broadheads and field tips. I shoot broadheads into it outside prior to walking to my stand so I have to shoot the outside targets. I plan on practice shooting in my basement this winter at 15 yds so maybe I should try the Cube. I will only be shooting field tips in the basement.
