RE: Bowtech choice..need input

I shot the out OUTBACK when I was looking at new bows and it is a nice bow. But I like the BowTechs Better. In "my opinion" it is not as smooth as the Liberty. And facts are facts, It doesn't hold a candle on speed with the VFT. I Chronod all the bows I shot with my 350 Grain arrows and the OutBack was about 15+ FPS slower than the EXT - VFT. Hey if you like it shoot by all the Outbacks. I don't rember the questions being about the outbacks or any other Mathews product.

Well I can tell you what i know about the Bowtech Extreme VFT as my wife and I both shoot them

upside - SERIOUS SPEED - mine 67# 30"draw = 307
wife 48# 29"draw = 297
both shooting 5grns/#

- smooth shooting - very little hand shock
- seem very accurate so far

- great back wall - they are very nice to hold at full
draw, you'll swear its more than 80%
letoff

downside - they have a rather stiff draw cycle, they feel
like a heavier draw than they actually are, but
as stated above are very nice at full draw

- neither my wife or I are particularly happy
with the grips, too skinny for my taste, and
she doesn't particularly care for the feel of
the wood

All in all if I had the decision to make over again I would still buy a VFT, the upsides outweigh the downsides. I also have a pro 40 dually coming in soon...will let you know how it performs.

Hope this helps,
Chris

I wouldn't rule out the Mighty Mite VFT as one possible choice either. I have one set up at 65lbs, 29" dl, and shooting a 375g GT XT at 303fps[:-]. Only thing to watch on it is the short ata - 30.5".

i think it depends on your finacial position. i just bought an extreme off ebay for under $400 and i love it. but it does have a short draw valley which could be hazardous when waiting for that perfect shot. but for an 18 year old, i cant be too picky. mony is mony and i dont have any..... :(
