That sounds pretty good bigpapascout this will be my first season with a ground blind so I hope it work's out .I have a ladder stand and a climber and there are some permenant stands in my bush so I have no problem's finding tree's the ground blind I will be using also is carbon lined so as not to tip off the deer.

Both styles have their uses. If I could use either in any given situation then I would probably choose the treestand as it offers more visability and normally more shooting opportunities. However, there are many times when using a treestand is not wise or convenient.

I started hunting out of a commercial ground blind two seasons ago and it has opened a totally new aspect to my hunting. If you can afford it then I would get one of each and actually see for yourself which works better in your situation.

They both are useful, I can see where a treestand works great on whitetail, I use a ground blind for antelope, as there are no trees where you find them out in the sagebrush flat lands.

I hunt pine plantations and mixed hardwod swamp here in Florida. Although I've hunted almost exclusively from treestands, I bought an Ameristep outhouse blind last year. I used it a few times but never felt real confident in it. It is well camo'd but the window openings stand out. The inside is black, (supposed to hide your shadow), but it makes the window openings stick out. I'm going to use it for turkey and we'll see what happens. I believe they have there place but i'm not totally sold on it.
