Great bows. I have a PSE Fire-Flite 33. They're not very expensive and shoot great.

I shoot a pro series litespeed that is a limited edition exactly like the firestorm lite. A nice treestand bow with a 8" brace height and decent speed that is easy on the wallet.:)

PSE Mach 11 for target. If it was up to me, I'd hunt with a Primos STL.

I shoot a PSE Whitetail Extreme. I really like the bow, very smooth, however I'm not impressed with PSE's assessories (rests, sights...), they seem pretty cheap and flimsy.

I have a 2002 PSE Thunderbolt. I like it real well, even though I have been shooting an under spined arrow. In process of correcting that. i imagine I will like it even better with the right arrows!

I have 2 bow's...one of them being an older PSE Thunderflight. I shot that bow for about 12 year's....shot lot's of buck's with it. Never gave me any trouble....althought I'm sure I blamed it for alot of my error's

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

I have an older PSE and I love it. There seems to be no need to shoot anything else. It shoots just as good as any of the matthews or bowtechs that I have ever been in competetion with. The only problem I have ever had is the riser. I have seen them blow up. A lot of that was that dad was shooting high poundage and was using really light arrows. The risers used to be cast, but now they are machined. They are still a great bow. BB

Killed many elk with my old PSE carroll intruder. Got a new PSE carrera and it is so fast and shoots great. I like their bows and customer service. Most of my accesories are other brands. Good quality equipment.

PWC-Did you have a bad experience with them? I guess I always buy to support the local economy plus I have been happy with the three I have had. What are you shooting? Good hunting.

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

Yes, I hate to flame other companies, but i was totally disatisfied with pse, used to shoot a thunderbolt, Never will I shoot another one riser exploded, and then tried to get it replaced, very dissatisfied with PSE not only as a bow company but with customer service as well, plus also what BYUBORN said, very weak accessories. By supporting the local economy, do you mean in your city or the country because i havent really heard of a lot of bows made in japan, i mean i could be wrong. I am now shooting a Parker ultra 31, a dream come true, and a nap drop away, shooting, and yes i know most guys wouldnt use these, but i shoot the easton superlite a/c/c arrows (for the nubs, alum carbon competition) yes they are competition arrows, but you get the best of both worlds with these arrows i think, and i have shot deer, the arrow has past through them and i can pick the arrow up wipe the blood off, and shoot the same one next season, well enough about the arrows, everybody has there own opinions on bows, and its a constant quest to find the right one. But i will say that my parker is quite impressive, and my dads new OUTBACk (matthews) is increddibly sweet, This bow is unparalled by any other bow, Witch is suprising because the limbs are actually more parallel :D but yah never will i touch a PSE again, sorry but its just MO

Cheers

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

I haven't used their accessories but I left both of my intruders in the attic in 150 degrees for years and never had a crack. Also looked at my Carrera and can't find Japan stamped on it anywhere but maybe all the bow companies are made there now. Anyway I have had good luck with them and would say they will do as good as any of the bows out there for hunting.

ROFL, i think you need to re-read what i said, i said i dont know if any bows are made in japan, not saying that they are, saying that they arent, lol hahaha, no im pretty sure most of them are made here in the US

I've been shooting them for 20yrs and have always been happy with them. I currently have a Carerra and a Stingray. I shoot the Carerra from groundblinds and the shorter Stingray when in a treestand. I plan on buying a new bow next year and PSE will be on my list of choices.

STINGRAY - It's like the company built it for me. Replaced and OLD Martin Cougar II.

Looked at the AR34 the other day, Kinda nice. The urge to spend is getting stronger. I also looked at the Martin Slayer at one of our shoots, held it, nice bow. I am resisting the urge as best I can.:)

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

PSE is a superb bow; always has been and I am confident it still is. I shot PSE for many years before I made a transition to Martin. Not because PSE became a bad bow, but because of cost and close access to a Martin dealer. Martin is also a good bow, so I have been using Martins since 1995.

I personally knew Pete Shepley for several years from his beginning. Shepley was very proud and protective of his product and the reputation of his product. I have to believe he still is. I used to occasionally visit the Illinois factory. When there, I observed the constant quality control processes. PSE would not let a riser with a paint blemish out the door.

These people were very serious about producing an excellent product and they did. PSE's design and durability was mostly responsible for getting the compound bow to be readily accepted in the archery world.

Any bow can occasionally have a defect, but that does not mean that the manufacturer produces inferior products. Many of the problems can also be the fault of the owner. PSE was always a very rugged bow. I would suspect that it still is.

All compound bows are good bows, and so is PSE. Do not accuse PSE, or any company, of bad customer service based on a personal experience with an employee that may have been incompetent.

PSE is a "classic" bow, mostly used by "classy" shooters.;)

PS: One part of the article on Pete's beginning is incorrect. He actually started in an 8' X 8" concrete block building that was located in Pete's backyard.

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

I shoot a PSE Primos STL. I've only had it for about 3 weeks, and I'm very happy with it. Smooth draw, relatively fast, solid wall & very quiet. My last bow was a PSE Lightning Flite 1 cam made in about 1996. I was happy with it too, but I wanted to upgrade to a more modern, faster bow.

I've always been very satisfied with PSE bows. Can't say much for their accessories because I've never used them.

It's kind of surprising to me that, on this forum, it seems people don't talk much about PSE bows. Hoyt, Mathews and Bowtech seem to be the current rage. I get the feeling that some think the PSE is more of an "entry level" bow. While it's true that PSE makes quite a few entry level bows, they make some very nice higher end bows as well. I believe my Primos will match up very well with just about any other brand out there.

I do not currently own a PSE but I have owned several in the past. I was always impressed with their solid, time proven designs and overall durability. They have a bow in every price range.

I've shot a PSE ThunderFlightExpress for the past 10 years. I'm picking up my new Firestom lite today or tomorrow. I in my 10+ years of shooting a PSE have never had an issue with my bow. I guess that's why I bought my second one.:)

I shoot a PSE Durango and my daughter shoots a Spyder. Couldn't be happier with them. Thinking about going to the Scorpion or the Venom for something a little shorter axle to axle.

RE: How many guys shoot PSE bows?

I Switched from a PSE Mach-12 to an AR34 from Archery Research. I liked the PSE, but the AR34 has a lighter total weight, and easier handeling in the woods. I lost 9 fps in speed but picked up on accuracy thanks to a cobra sidewinder sight and a Trophy Ridge drop away arrow rest. I would recommend the AR34 for anyone who likes a light weight easy shooting bow

PSE shooter reporting in....

I currently shoot a '03 PSE Nitro...excellent shooter, fast and precise. I might also get a '04 PSE Mach 12 at the end of the season (bow with abit longer ATA (Nitro have 36"...while the Mach 12 have 38")), but am seriously looking at a Martin Cougar III with Elite limbs (42" ATA) also.

I've been shooting PSE for several years, with absolutely NO problems. I am at present shooting the PSE Mach Pro with the NRG cam. I am very impressed with PSE and their service is the best in the business. I'm also shooting the AR line which is a division of PSE and they are very well built, quiet, smooth, awesome bows. You won't go wrong handling PSE. They are top notch.
