Default laser rangefinders

I want to buy a laser rangefinder mainly for bowhunting deer. Any recommendations or suggestions on which one to buy? I really don' t want to pay over $200 for one.

Thanks,
Jack

I have the Nikon laser 400. It is good to 437 yards. +/- 1/2 yard to 100 yards. They can be had almost anywhere for $200 or less. Try mtnarchery.com.

I found the Nikon Laser400 on Hotbuyselectronics.com for $169. Looks like a good rangefinder.

I have a bushnell and it is good except that it eats batteries. i leave the batteries in it and sometimes in less than 3 weeks they are used up. i don' t even use it that much. i would look at what kind of batteries the ones your looking at take as mine are like a camera battery. wish it used AA.

I have a Bushnell Yardage Pro Sport that I bought two seasons ago. It retails for around $170 most places. I have found it to be very accurate, lightweight and compact. The only drawback to it is that some folks expect the viewfinder to have high quality optics when, in fact, it does not. For bowhunting and " short range" gun hunting (ie...250 yards and under) it is an ideal unit for an attractive price.

Nikon 400 works great. That price has really come down as of late. They used to be $300 to $330. I' ve seen them now for 199 to 219 in major mail order catalogs. The camera uses a lithium battery but they last, mines been in there for two seasons. Its one of the best tools I have for bowhunting and would highly reccomend one.

Good Luck!
