RE: Bow Packages

Parker had a nice bow package...I think it was with their 35 Mag bow. It sold for under $400 if I remember correctly.

If you are looking for quality in a package then look at the Parker Hunter Mag. I work in a shop and have put many packages together and see what kind of accessories companies are using. Without naming them I can say that a few should be ashamed to put their names on the bows. So far one of the best out there is the Parker Hunter Mag with Pearson' s 440 Quad being a close second. Both are good bows and have lifetime warranties. The Parker costs about $440 and the Pearson about $375.

I agree with Danny45 and Krotalus. As Danny said, it' s important for you to get some specific information about draw length and weight. I agree with Krotalus regarding packages in general. In my experience, the accessories included in a package aren' t the best. One exception that comes close to ideal, however, is the one shown on the Bowtech website. This is a package I would jump on if I could afford it.

I would recommend you consider a bow with a long axle-to-axle length and higher brace height. These bows are generally more forgiving of form faults and therefore are more enjoyable and satisfying for the beginning archer. If you go to a proshop, as was suggested previously, they can get you fitted. Good Luck!

If you have a Cabela' s store near you, thats the place to go. They have a setup from PSE that was made especially for them i believe it is the FireFlight. My younger brother just got one and it is a real nice shooter for 249 with everything on it, including 4 carbon pse arrows. All you need is a release and you are set.
