I recently changed from the Aluminum arrows to the Carbon arrows and cannot believe how incredibly difficult it is to pull the arrows out of my McKenzie 3D deer. Short of buying a Morrell buck do you have any ideas that make this process of arrow retrieval easier – If not I may have a McKenzie for sale.

Yep - I switched to carbons about 2-3 weeks ago and am experiencing the same thing. I' m interested to see what everyone else has used but the two things I have tried was non-stick cooking spray - I spray a rag/towel and wipe about 6-7 inches of the arrow. The other thing I tried was liquid dish detergent - same thing - wipe last several inches of arrow. Both made a huge difference.

They make points designed specifically for this, the point is slightly bigger around in the middle than the arrow shaft, then tapers back to the same diameter as the shaft. I believe Cabela' s carrys the pig points, there are others also. Big difference in the way your arrow pulls from the target, with out the hassle and mess of dipping or wiping stuff on the arrow. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah they also make something called Slick Stick... I have never tried it but it might work. I just gave up on the 3-D targets and bought the block... Works Great for Broadheads...

The other thing I found out is that for 3D targets the uncoated shafts (dull finish) pull much easier than the coated (glossy) arrows. Although with the fat " pig points" any arrow is much easier to pull out.
