RE: Muzzy broadhead; what is the mystique?

WOW!!! I always looked at Muzzy as a cheap (price NOT quality) head.
I' m MY tests, the top performer is still the Slick trick (www.slicktrick.net).
Now they have a 125, and they look even tougher!!! I' ll have to try THEM this season (was switching to 125s anyway).
You wanted a sleeper with better performance...Slick Trick is it. (.035 blades are TOUGH!!! toughest replaceable I' ve tested yet).
Best part...EVERY time I' ve shot them, they hit the same spot as my field points (even when the Muzzy didn' t).
I still trust Muzzy...and will continue to use them for tuning, but from an engineering point of view...the SLick tricks are tops.

The problem with Slick Tricks is you can' t get any. That' s because the Slick Trick tried to move to a new manufacturer for the blades and that manufacturer didn' t deliver. So now you can' t get' em. Hunting seson is getting too close now, so Slick Trick may be hurting because of this.

I guess I' ll use my trusty ol classic Thunderheads this year.

I use Muzzy heads & I do not think they are too expensive. I think the muzzy' s are a good quality head. I am sure there are better heads but the muzzys have never let me down. After I release a arrow at a deer I write the arrow & broadhead off. I never use the same arrow twice on game.

Does anyone use Simmons Sharks, and if so are they worth the hefty price?

I really like my muzzy heads. Price? I dont think there any more or less then any other broadhead out there...quality broadhead. Ill take muzzys over thunderheads any day. I dont like how the blades are held together on the thunderheads. I do like the thickness of there blades over the muzzys though. Any broadhead can break when shot into rocks after blowing through a deer, what do you expect? Im going to shoot muzzys this year as well as Magnus Stingers, they look like a pretty neat little head. Im going to go to a cut up front type head for pig hunting next march. Any broadhead at 20 yards put in the kill zone at a perfectly broadside animal should go through, its the wierd shots that make or break are broadheads. Ive had muzzys pull through every time, and i see nothing wrong with price or strength. There, i put my two cents in, better give me change. lol:D

I was a die hard Muzzy 3-blade fan until last year when i came across a package of Game Tracker Sabre SST 125gr. They are about $6 less a half dozen than the Muzzys and use the Wasp Stainless Steel Tip. If your a Muzzy fan and looking for a cheaper clone this is the head.

I think the thing about Muzzy is the fact they always work. They are like a good old pickup truck, there when you need them to be.
