Default Rip Cord Code Red Owners

Notice the string that goes into the housing of the rest is beginning to frey any suggestions on this to prevent it from happening and is it replaceable?
Love the rest this is the only negative about it.

Have a friend that his is doing the same,may be a factory thing. My old one show no sign of a fray
