I also used a hunter safety system for the last 2 years and liked some things about it but the weight(too heavy even though I have the mesh version) and the bulk/noise of the buckles/clips. I just got a Lone Wolf climbing stand and a simple looking full body harness came with it. At first I thought it would be cheap or too many straps to connect, but I found it was just as easy to put on as my HSS at 1/4 the weight and quiet to boot. So that's what I'll be hunting with and I'll keep my HSS as a backup for friends that hunt with me that don't use a harness. PlusI think the lone wolf one is cheap(maybe $30). You can probably find it on their website.

I bought a nice safety harness from Screaming Eagle a long time ago.AFAIK Paul Brunner sold the biz.Not sure if they're still around but if you can find one they're great. You might try the Leatherwall trad forums at the BowSite for info.

Hunter Safety Systems just released their newly redesigned 2009 Pro Series HSS-6 vest at the ATA Show. They made severalupgrades to it...Rubber coated buckles, 8 pockets (incuding hand pockets), built in bino/range finderstraps, etc.

I like all of the updates so muchthat I've ordered one for myself...

I have an Armour Lite by Body Armour (I think it is Seat of the Pants subsidiary). I only know that name cause I googled it.

I think it is a good mix of safe and lite and non-bulky. It has a tear
away fall arrestor and full support, and the straps feel like gel.

I like it, although it is a bit on the high side, I think about $100.

I'm too lazy to post a photo, but you can Google it.I think BassPro has it.

MOhunter, I used the muddy outdoors saftey harness this year and it rocks, I actully only used to use the treehopper belt my self as my saftey belt but for reason last year had to use a true and teasted harness and the muddy was awesome and easy to use. Walt
