when i heard about the diamond iceman, i was anxious to shoot it. i mean the concept is a good one, the center pivot riser as found on the bts and the single cam found on the diamonds... seemed like maybe the best of both worlds. i got to shoot it today.
i have to say that i was dissapointed because what i liked about the bt center pivots was that they had no hand shock at all, and the diamond didnt seem to be any better than any other bow. im quite confused on how this is... anyone else shot them in comparison with the admiral or captain??

I don't think it's going to be drastically "better", per se, than the feeling one would get from the Admiral or Captain in terms of recoil and shot feel... What you get is the same sensation coupled with the draw force curve of a single cam, which some shooter much prefer over a binary or other system because of the way it ramps up.

exactly what i thought, i happen to like the binary cam but i see why some wouldnt... but the iceman didnt feel as shock-free as the bowtechs, kinda dissapointing it looked sweet.

Based on what I'm hearing you say, I'd highly suggest shooting one of the new Ross Carnivores... unbelievably quiet and recoil-free. Never shot anything like it, and needless to say -- I get to shoota LOT of bows.

Ditto on Greg's comments. The Carnivore 31 really surprised me. This bow has the shot feel of the General...in other words there is none. I have yet to shoot a conventional riser bow that feels this way...even my Black Ice.
Your comments have me curious about the Ice Man now. I have one due in any day so I will be sure to keep an eye out for the issue you mentioned.

it was definately an awsome bow, i was just expectin it to be as quiet and shock free as the admiral/general thats all... for single cam guys it should be a major hit though.... definately takes away from mathew's "relentless innovation" slogan lol

ORIGINAL: VA ICEMAN
I thought just the opposite! I shot the Ross Carnivore first and felt the Iceman to be smoother, quieter, and had less vibration.
IMHO.

I finally got to see the Iceman, Admiral, and Captainin person today and held them but did not shoot them. Man, the web really does not do them any justice, just overall beautiful craftsmaship as they all had good balance and feel to them. I was expecting them to be more top heavy but they weren't. I just cannot justify selling my Black Ice that I bought earlier this year, LOL. BUT, and there is always a but, they still have that 08 Allegiance hanging there that isSCREAMING my name! I shot that one earlier this year and I gotta tell you, it's a perfect match. I also looked at the HOYT Alpha Max and while it felt good also, I gotta give the nod to the Admiral.
