RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals

I tried the 2 blade during the late season and did some serious damage to a Doe! Massive blood trail, I couldn't believe all the blood![:-]

I have been using the NAP Spitfire 125's on hogs, I think I will try some of the Rage 2 blade next time out in about a week and see what happens.

Let us know how they work. Hogs, as I'm sure you know, are very tough on both broadhead and bullets. Should be a good test of the Rage's backbone.

Always been a muzzy guy with little complaints except the lack of blood trails at times. This year with what I've seen and read I'm def giving the rages a try.

I used the Rage 2 Blades last season and was extremely impressed as were the 3 hunting partners I share a lease with. I did not hear one complaint from anyone.

The rage 2 is a great show stopper head. I use it on Turkey's and can't say enough good about it. They shoot very well...not really any different than my field points. It makes a great entry and exit hole. I have friends that use the 3 blade for deer and made some marginal shots that didn't make 75 yds. The only thing I don't like about them is they are a little expensive and I would say fragile. After you shoot it once you have to basically replace the rubber gasket and the blade tips have broke off after being in a Turkey. I had one of the allen heads break off inside while trying to remove the blades too. I don't think you will find another mechanical that works better though. I really like the G5 striker fixed head too....very nice shooting broadhead and durable.

I cant say how well they work on other animals, but I went on a russian boar hunt this past weekend, and one of the guys with me was trying out the rage 2 blade. His first shot was at 17 yds, and it only penetrated about 5 inches. That hog was still running around 2 days later when we left. The hog he ended up getting he put three arrows in the guide put a 357shell in it, and never got an exit wound. The other guy with me got a near pass through at 40 yds with the G5 tekken 2 mechanicals. It still took one more arrow and a 357to finish it off. I used GrimReaper razorcut 100grain and got a near pass through at 30yds, but my arrow shattered. It still took a second arrow as well to end it, but at least not a bullet. I can say, that even though the Rage didnt penetrate well, it had a MUCHlarger entrance hole. I have no doubt they would tear up a softer hided animal like a deer.

I bought the Rage 2 mechanical, and i bought a set of the Muzzy Fixed 3 blade broadhead. The Mechanical was a snap, and i'll tell you i just spent 1.5 hours Trying to put together oneof the Muzzy broadheads, igave up for the night, i guess im tired and brain is asleep, i just cant figure it out. these are my first broadheads ever.. just been shooting with the field tips since i just got my first bow a few months ago. Goodluck and get the Rage2

i shoot the rage 2 blade and them things are awesome,me and my son inlaw both took bucks with them this last year and what they do to a deer are devastating to say the least a blood trail is no problem with them,i will never go back to a fixed head for whitetails these things fly exactly like my field points............Ted

From what I have heard, for hogs youshould use a fixed blade because of the difficult penetration. All the pics I have seen from the Rage 2-blades shooting deer have left one Heck of a hole.
