Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I recently purchased a Diamond Marquis and discussed the "Rage" 2-blade mechanical broadhead. The archery guy uses them and loves them. any thoughts? Thanks

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
There has been a lot of discussion on this board about the Rage 2 blade. Among those who have actually used them, like me, there seems to be some pretty favorable reviews. Though not perfect, they can put a deer on the ground quicker than just about any broadhead out there. Particularly if your hit is less than perfect. I have had some concerns about using them on larger animals, like elk; but the bowhunting celebshave beenusing them on African plains game with good results - I'm tempted to try them this fall on elk.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I started using the rage 2 blade last year on both deer and turkey, out of my bow and crossbow. Those things are deadly you won't believe the blood trail and entrance hole they put in deer.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I recently bought some slick tricks and ordered a pack of rage to test out. I'm also shooting the Marquis! From what I have read the rages and very good heads.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
Most people love them, and they have very few detractors.
Even Chuck Adams has started using them in his pursuits, and he's been a die-hard fixed-blade head user for years and years. |
RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I received my pack of rage 2 blade and all I can say is. WOW! They look really good!!

follow my link. I have reviews to both the 2 and 3 blade rage heads. |
RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I think you will be very happy with the RAGE.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I use and like the Rage 2-blade. That's the only endorsement I have.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
My son shot a turkey last weekend using the Rage 2-blade heads. Wow, the shot was at 18 yds and the tom just fell over and kicked a couple times and was dead. The Rage worked great. Now if ol' dad can get that lucky.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I tried the 2 blade during the late season and did some serious damage to a Doe! Massive blood trail, I couldn't believe all the blood![:-]

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I have been using the NAP Spitfire 125's on hogs, I think I will try some of the Rage 2 blade next time out in about a week and see what happens.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
Let us know how they work. Hogs, as I'm sure you know, are very tough on both broadhead and bullets. Should be a good test of the Rage's backbone.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
Always been a muzzy guy with little complaints except the lack of blood trails at times. This year with what I've seen and read I'm def giving the rages a try.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I used the Rage 2 Blades last season and was extremely impressed as were the 3 hunting partners I share a lease with. I did not hear one complaint from anyone.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
The rage 2 is a great show stopper head. I use it on Turkey's and can't say enough good about it. They shoot very well...not really any different than my field points. It makes a great entry and exit hole. I have friends that use the 3 blade for deer and made some marginal shots that didn't make 75 yds. The only thing I don't like about them is they are a little expensive and I would say fragile. After you shoot it once you have to basically replace the rubber gasket and the blade tips have broke off after being in a Turkey. I had one of the allen heads break off inside while trying to remove the blades too. I don't think you will find another mechanical that works better though. I really like the G5 striker fixed head too....very nice shooting broadhead and durable.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
I cant say how well they work on other animals, but I went on a russian boar hunt this past weekend, and one of the guys with me was trying out the rage 2 blade. His first shot was at 17 yds, and it only penetrated about 5 inches. That hog was still running around 2 days later when we left. The hog he ended up getting he put three arrows in the guide put a 357shell in it, and never got an exit wound. The other guy with me got a near pass through at 40 yds with the G5 tekken 2 mechanicals. It still took one more arrow and a 357to finish it off. I used GrimReaper razorcut 100grain and got a near pass through at 30yds, but my arrow shattered. It still took a second arrow as well to end it, but at least not a bullet. I can say, that even though the Rage didnt penetrate well, it had a MUCHlarger entrance hole. I have no doubt they would tear up a softer hided animal like a deer.

RE: Rage 2-blade mechanicals
Shot a nice Hoosier 8 pointer at 15 yards from the ground last Holloween with the RAGE 2 blade! All I can say is WOW! The blood trail was like none I've ever seen, he piled up within 100 yards on a marginal hit that was back a tad. I'll keep using them!
