Default ThermaCell

I'm sure these have been reviewed before. But do they work and only scare off bugs and not deer?

Here in Florida you couldn't hunt without one. They're worth every penny.

I agree with Centaur 1. Here in Georgia they are mighty handy too.

Two years ago, I tookone out turkey hunting. As I plopped myself down in a shaded thicket along the edge of the woods overlooking a field, a billow of skeeters rose and swarmed around me. Hundreds of them. I fired up my Thermocell for the first time and let it warm while I whacked away at the pesky critters. Within 10 minutes, not a single skeeter was even near me. As for use during hunting, I have only used it a couple of times to keep the skeeters away. Only because they are not usually a problem for very long in Michigan before the frost puts them down. However, you can convert your Thermocell for use with deer attractant by using one of there metal platforms and pad. It warms the scent and really gets the scent out there. I have never found scents to work very well where I hunt, but I do know that by heating the scent up, it will really evaporate it and put a lot of scent out there in the air.

I have killed 5 deer in the past two years with Therma-cell on. These were all bow kills so the deer were inside 30 yds. I don't go in the woods without one.

Works great but it has spooked off some hogs, at least i think that is what it was cuz i take all the precausions i can with my clothes and that was the first time i used it and thought id try it again and went out scouting for deer and had three deer get about thrity yards away and they took off to.
