PSE syder or Browning micro midas are two good bows without spending a ton of money

I like the micro midas and Adreniline, along with the Darton ranger series wich is a great small frame bows series that will grow with ya and pacs hunting power. I am currently in the small frame bow market for my girl friend.

I agree with Doegirl75. The Edge is a great starter bow and for that price you can't beat it. My daughter shoots that same bow and it is awsome!

The Edge gets my vote. It is super easy to adjust and is a fine shooting bow for $300.

The edge get's mine too. You might also want to look at the equalizer.. I do not know what they sell for but seems like a very nice bow..

Here are the websites for both, compare them both and get him shooting see which one he likes best.
the edge: http://www.diamondarchery.com/the_edge.php
equalizer: http://www.bowtecharchery.com/equalizer.php
