Slick Tricks?
Have any of you guys tried these? I've heard they perform well on hogs (good exit wounds & nice blood trails). I'm interested in any negative experiences, if any.

RE: Slick Tricks?
Love them. I shot nine deer last year with out any issues except for one which was my fault. Anyone I know that shoots them loves them!

RE: Slick Tricks?
I have em and absolutely LOVE EM!!!!!
Even though im shootin steel force i have a slick trick in my quiver! |
RE: Slick Tricks?
The first time I tried them in the woods the deer dropped within sight after running about 40 yds. Looked like I used a slug .:)

RE: Slick Tricks?
The hype about these things shooting like fieldpoints is true. I decided to try some this season, and so I tested them yesterday. I made 0 adjustments to my bow. They weredeadon with my field points.

RE: Slick Tricks?
I am using them for the first time this year. I look forward to seeing them in action.

RE: Slick Tricks?
I must say that I NEVER beleived the "feild point flight" b.s. untill I bought a pack of em. They fly just like my feild tips! I got em to use this year so I am excited to see how they perform.

RE: Slick Tricks?
I love my Slick Tricks. I was skeptical unitl I started shooting them recently.

RE: Slick Tricks?
I think their flight is totally overrated and do not fly like a fieldpoint. I wish they did because they are well made but they don't. I have been shooting a lot this year and know where my field points are hitting so screwed a few STs on, spin tested the arrows and shot them a couple days ago. Arrow 1 was always high / right, 2 was always left, and arrow 3 right on.
I took arrows 1 and 2, ran then through a G5ASD and re-tested with the same results. Threw on a Jak-Hammer on arrows 1 and 2 and hit my 1" orange dots at 41 yards withconsecutive shots. The STs were off by up to 8" at that range. I got 2 deer with STs last year but I am switching to something less fickle. I still may have one or two STs in my quiver this year (if I can get them to fly decent) but I am sick of having to number all of my arrowsand understand exactly where they are hitting. |
RE: Slick Tricks?
Johnny u sound like you know what youre doing but did you try trning the nock on your arrows?? I always have to do this but afterwards, all arrows hittin spot on!

I have 20-30-40-50 yard pins on my sight. The Slick Tricks fly with my field tips all the way out to 50. If I have field tips and mechanicals flying well but BHs are all over the place I would start looking for tuning issues, but thats just me.

If you get any negative responses, I will be surprised. The only thing I don't like is the fact that they won't accept credit cards when you try to buy on their website.
The product is FANTASTIC and does exactly what they say it does - THEY FLY LIKE FIELD POINTS. |

RE: Slick Tricks?
Yep. Something must be out of tune somewhere that shows up when I shoot the Slick Trick mags. Or maybe the wind was swirling and is catching the blade and causing my arrows to plane out. There was a point late last year where all of the stars were alligned and the Slick Tricks were flying better than they are today. Real close to field points when shooting with no wind and really concentrating on form. Same arrows, same vanes....Something must have changed over time and now they don't fly consistently.
No matter the cause I am much less confident with the Slick Tricks now than I am with the Jak Hammers and that is all that really counts. The Sonics fly real well too but I am looking for a bigger hole and a bit more durability. I went through a broadhead target last year trying to get the Slick Tricks flying straight and I have no time for that this year especiallywhen I can easily find a solutionby simply spinning on a different head. Slick Tricks are not magic. They are a good fixed blade head with a loyal group of followers. |

RE: Slick Tricks?
Slick Tricks work well for me, as any quality BH would if fired from a well tuned bow. I shoot the regular 100 gr. head and have had no complaints, and considermyself a loyal ST user.
Bottom line shoot what you have confidence in.....A bow is like a shotgun each has it's own distict pattern, and different ammo performs better or worse than others. I'vetraded a few broadheads with guys, shotfive or six different heads looking for the one best suited to my rig. For me ST was the winner. My hunting partner did the same thing and Montec seemed to work better for him. Give a few a try and decide for yourself what is best vs. driving yourself nuts on these forums. ![]() |

RE: Slick Tricks?
Is there any other head out there ,I use the slick's and haven't found a head that I like as well . I'm sure they're other's that shoot as well ,but once you find something that work's well ,keep em and keep shooting them till they go into the garbage.
