I would like to use them but they are a lot of $$

You can make your own. Go to youtube.com and search for homemade lighted nock and it will show you how to make them. Good luck.

My brother tried to make them and til you buy all the stuff and try to make them screw some of them up buy again and again you could have already bought them so if you want to use them my advise is just buy them and be done with it.

They will be on my arrows this year. I just love watching my arrow fly in the back yard.

I have them and they are great...They really help when you are filming a hunt.....you can see the arrow much better
Well worth the money....

RE: lumenok

They don't work well with small diameter carbons(HIT system).

RE: lumenok

Yes and yes. One importtant thing to do and they should work every time. Make sure the end of your arrow is square. I'd venture to say that 99% of the guys whining about them not working is because the end of their arrow is not cut square.

RE: lumenok

i use them on my long arrows and my crossbow bolts. i love them. yes they are a little expensive but so is the arrow and i will always be able to find my arrow in low light or if its in brush, grass, etc.

RE: lumenok

i have axis st(small diameter)they work fine. you just have to buy the rightsize for your arrow. ebay seemed to be the cheapest when ibought them last year.

RE: lumenok

I tried them for two years in a row and could only get them to work half the time, went with Smart Tracer and they work every time without fail!

matt1214 08-14-2007 10:53 AM

RE: lumenok

sounds like they would be good for low light conditions

This is easy: TRACER NOCKS!!!!!!!!!

RE: lumenok

Three guys from Ohio had Lumenoks on their arrows on our bear hunt last May. Their videos were fantastic. The lumenoks worked great and really enhanced the films. However, I bought six for me and six for my wife when we got back for future use. Two out of the twelve don't work. The rest work beautifully. I would like to try the Tracer Nocks but don't know anything about them.

Bandhunter 08-15-2007 02:41 PM

RE: lumenok

I use the tracer nocks in my accs because the lumenoks will not fit. The tracer nocks have a magnetic switch built inside to turn the nock light on when it passes by a small magnet placed on your arrow rest. It has worked every time for me so far.

I love it. I shot 3 deer with 1 lumenock last year. You never ? shot placement or where you arrow is in the dark. They fly the same as regular. I just bought 3 more for this season.

IMHO Tracer nocks are more reliable. Never had one fail to light.

RE: lumenok

I guess I was lucky when I started making my own. My home made ones are far cheaper, easy to make, and work every time. I love practicing with them, especially late evenings when the sun is down because you can see exactly what your arrow is doing in flight and you can see exactly where your arrow is in the target.

I think the ones I have add around 12gr

WILL THE TRACERS FIT(CX350 EDGE OR ACC 340)??

Corvus 08-22-2007 08:18 AM

RE: lumenok

I prefer the Tracers over Lumenoks. I was skeptical about the magnets working reliably, but I've never had one fail. I hate having to wiggle my Lumenoks loose to turn them off.

Tracers& luminocks same weight each? Do both weight the same(12 gr)?

jdbowhunter 08-22-2007 03:14 PM

RE: lumenok

No, they do not weigh the same. Even different lumenoks, the different sizes for different arrows, weigh different. The lumenok for my Carbon Express Maxima's add 18 grains to the arrow. I checked on the Tracer Nocks and they add about another 6 grains or 24/25 total over the stock nock.

RE: lumenok

Just to add to the weight debate here I just shot my tracers yesterday and even with the 30grns added from the TRACER they are hitting just like my arrows with the regular nocks??? Yeah seems goofy to me also?

I've never noticed a difference in my arrows with regular nocks or the tracer nocks, of course I never shoot beyond 30 yards anyway so maybe the further you shoot the more you may notice the difference.

I just purchased 3 lumenocs and will give them a try when they arrive. Cost was less than 24 bucks including shipping

RE: lumenok

From testing differentarrows, fletchings, and broadheads in the past, I can tell you that this small amount of additional weight will not be noticable until you approach 40 yards and more. Even then, the additional drop probably wouldn't take you out of the vitals on most animals, if your shot placement was correct.
